Some are driven forward by a desire to conquer a mountain, prove the capacity to someone or himself.
Yesterday we have finished a three day trek through tracks and paths of lower Mustang region, on the base of Himalayas.

I'll admit, in the second part of the trek, especially the last two days of non-stop rain, I was driven by a vision of a juicy beef steak waiting for me in Pokhara steak house.

More on steaks in Asia

By the way, we've already been to Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar, and only here, in Nepal, they know how to make a good steak (ok, I don't include those outrageously priced designer restaurants which you can find in big cities that we've been to before).
Influence of English?

An interesting observation is that slaughtering a bull / cow in Nepal is illegal and brings the offender to jail.
Importing beef from Calcutta, though, is no problem. That's how it's done.
