Now, everybody knows, Chinese are extremely good at fireworks. They've been doing it for hundreds of years.
I was sure Singaporeans (most of them are Chinese) will show the best in-house performer they've got. But no, the main star of the show was a guy from Spain!

I'll have to rethink an old joke about a salesman selling ice to eskimos and sand to arabs.

The lesson learnt - "you won't be a prophet in your own country", as the saying goes.
If you want to make your own fireworks, irrelevant of the field you are in, you'll have to find new ground. It'll be easier there.
